As an Interior Design Major, Sculpture work and drawings are pretty much what we also do, but Juliana Cerqueira Leite And Tara Donovan's work are so interesting to look and study about due to their organic and beautiful look that they create.
Leite has a very human based sculpting style. What I mean is that many of her sculptors look as if you molded off of someone's body, such as the famous "Climb" is made to look like a bunch of hands on top of each other, in a sense, climbing on top of one another. Her work consist of human bodies in different poses, mouths, legs, etc.
Donovan's work, from what I can interpret, is based on minimalist, organic, natural things. She incorporates a lot of round, circular shapes and wavy lines within her work that just leaves the viewers so mesmerized at what they are seeing. At first, it really all didn't make sense, but I think that is the essence of her work. I believe that her work is very interesting and honestly I could stare at her work for days on find and seeing every detail that she has put into her sculptures.
If I were to ever become a sculpture designer, I would have Tara Donovan as my inspiration because of the minimalist, organic aesthetic that she has going on. Even if her work is based on minimalistic ideas, the deeper you look at a piece, the more details you find and it is just so amazing of the work she produces.
